The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) has inaugurated Mr. Anthony Chukwuemeka Nzom, FCNA as the 9th ANAN President. The inauguration took effect on 30th April, 2015 during the 33rd Annual General meeting of the Association held at Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja.
The Association’s immediate Past President, Alhaji (Dr.) Sakirudeen Tunji Labode, FCNA gave report of his stewardship and handed over the mantle of leadership to Mr Nzom.
Presenting his acceptance speech after being decorated with the insignia of office, the new ANAN President rolled out his 10 point Agenda as follows:
1.Sponsorship of Research into Natural Capital and Peace Accounting, Small & Medium Enterprises/Practices and Entrepreneurship Skill Development
2.Sustenance of Physical and Infra-Structural Development
3.Capacity Building for Staff, both locally and internationally
4.Development of members’ skill-set in all facets of the Profession
5.Maintaining and improving on ANAN international Obligations
6.Partnering with Government of Nigeria at all levels
7.Maintaining established obligations with Tertiary Educational Institutions and Guiding Secondary institutions
8.Strengthening the activities of ANAN Branches
9.Introduction of Sporting activities into curriculum of the Nigerian College of Accountancy
10.Deepening and working more closely with the Capital Market.
Before now, Mr Nzom was first vice President of the Association. He has also served as Chairman of Various Council Committees.
