The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, at her 35th Annual General Meeting held at Nicon Luxury, Abuja Saturday 29th April, 2017 installed Alhaji Shehu Usman Ladan, FCNA, mni as the 10th President of the Association.
Before his investiture as ANAN President, Ladan rose to the position of First Vice President and Chaired Physical Planning & Infrastructure and Examination & Conference Marking Committees from May 2015 to April, 2017.
A member of the National Institute, Kuru and Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPA), Ireland, Ladan garnered a lot of experiences both in public and private sectors. He was former Bursar of Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto.
Delivering his acceptance speech at the investiture, Ladan thanked Allah for the honour and opportunity the Almighty has bestowed on him and expressed deep appreciation to his predecessor, Mr Anthony Chukwuemeka Nzom, Council members, Past Presidents, members and staff of the Association, friends and colleagues for their unalloyed support. He looked back at his ourney as Professional Accountant and felt fulfilled reaching the pinnacle of the profession by becoming the President and Chairman of Council of ANAN, an IFAC member body with various international affiliations.
The new ANAN President, hinged his two-year tenure agenda on Strengthening Accountancy Profession in Nigeria believing that having a strong accountancy profession will provide a solid foundation our dear nation requires to build a sustainable and prosperous future.
To carry out this vision, the President announced his 10-points agenda as follows:

- Helping SMPs to create Opportunities for Practice
- Unity of Purpose for Accountancy Development in Nigeria

- Accelerated Capacity Development
- Networking and Internationalization
Ladan also promised to strengthen Council Committees and Management in accordance with the emerging issues in the Profession and global best practices, restructure the Association’s Programmes and Budget to enhance project- centered and output-oriented activities.
