We are pleased to inform you that the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA) and AAFA have reached an agreement to fund a new round of research on Accounting and Finance in Africa. This round of funding seeks to build on previous research-led schemes, known as the 2017 and 2019 Africa Call for Research Papers Initiative. This third round of research, known as the 2020-2021 Africa Call for Accounting & Finance Research Initiative (ACAFRI) seeks to encourage wider collaboration amongst scholars in Africa and to foster policy-relevant research. The successful applicants will also benefit from AAFA's research mentorship scheme.
Overall, the objective of the 2020-2021 ACAFRI is to develop high-quality empirical, conceptual or theoretical research that will be of benefit to PAFA and the African accountancy profession more generally, and to support African economies in attaining the African Union's Agenda 2063.
The initiative will fund two (2) African accounting and finance research projects. The two qualifying projects will each receive a maximum award of US$7,500 and upon completion of the project, each lead investigator will present the findings and insights at the next African Congress of Accountants (ACOA) in 2021 (Maputo, Mozambique).
